COMFORT

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, to that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Well, it's been a year. A full year of "OneThoughts". This is pretty much where we started. I thought I'd revisit this verse since back in the day, I only put a scripture out there.

The truth about the Christian life is that it is meant to be lived out in community. What we receive from God, we are to pour out to others. As we celebrate the Lord's Supper, we remember that Jesus was blessed of God to be broken and poured out for all. We are to follow His example. While we may not have to be crucified in order to accomplish this, we will probably have to go out of our way to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

If we can offer comfort, hope, food, strength, help, etc, we should. Simply being aware of the needs of those around us can be a strong witness for God. Most people are so wrapped up in their own "stuff" that when someone actually takes the time to show care and concern for them, that does not go unnoticed.

Today, have your radar up for ways in which you can make a difference. Wait patiently and listen for Spirit promptings that will direct you. The world will benefit.

ThoughtPrayer: "God, give me the awareness to see the need around me and to do something about it."

BTW - Thanks for being part of OneThought.net. It's thrilling to hear that people are finding this helpful in their walk with Jesus. That's all I ever wanted.
