In order to hit his mark, an archer needs an arrow that is sharp and straight. As we are obedient to God, He refines us. Giving us people around us to sharpen us. (Prov. 27:17) The more willing we are to lay down our lives for His purposes, the more He willing to entrust us with. We need to be careful here though, our primary motive for obedience isn't to get more "stuff" from God. It is to serve Him wholeheartedly.
Like Isaiah, each of us has a calling on our lives. We are created by Him and for Him. Ephesians 2:10 says we're His workmanship created to good works. These works bring His Kingdom. Our neighborhoods look different with people who are sharp and ready to be used by Him.
ThoughtPrayer: "God, use me to bring Your Kingdom."
